Phonics

In phonics we have been working really hard to hold a sentence in our heads and write it down. We are really proud of our captions today!

Wow Writing!

Look at our amazing writing!
We listened to the story of The Odd Egg and drew our own Odd eggs and described what is inside them. The children used the phonemes we have learned so for this year to help them to spell the words.

You can continue your child’s learning in this area by encouraging them to write sentences at home to bring into school to show us!

Comparing height

This week in maths we have started to look at height. The children made towers which are taller, shorter and the same height.

Music

In our music lesson this week we have been focusing on Bonfire night. The children used scarves to represent fireworks and sang a song all about an Owl.

Constellations

This week we have been talking about how in the past sailors and pirates used stars in the sky to help them to navigate their ships.
The children looked at different constellations and recreated them. They did a fabulous job and found the names of them really interesting.

Maths day!

For maths day today we celebrated to rock stars and numbots. The children came to school dressed as robots or rockstars and we did lots of fun maths focusing on number formation!

A visit to Martin Mere

This week we had a lovely day at Martin Mere! The rain poured but it didn’t stop us taking part in the lovely nature activities so that we could become Guardians of the Wild!

Exploring pattern rules

Today we have been exploring pattern rules. The children created their own patterns and explained their pattern rules to each other.
